Thank everyone for the prayers, calls, emails messages you are all very kind and thoughtful, thankyou. Still so much heartbreak and it is hard to believe this happened. A big, big thank you to Toni in Rockwall for grooming Melindyee every month since just a baby. This was a hard call to make today. She was very shocked and sad, keep her in your prayers she is the best grooming anyone could ever want. She went beyond the latest fashion Melindyee felt like home and didn’t stay in a kennel, she just watched the others get groomed. She was a good girl she just didn’t like dogs to much. Toni said she really thinks of herself as a person. I wanted to share this picture not only because it is cute but the two of us are high maintance girls. Hair, nails and grooming every month. If we slack we looked terrible but it we do want is needed we look cute. I love the pink but Toni said Melindyee didn’t like it that day so we never did it again. We wanted her to have a good time with Toni and she always did. Melindyee is every where we look in our home, this will be a journey that will take time to heal. Thank you again for you emails and stories. One thing I remember is to love great is to loose great. We read and pray and trust the Lord she is in the kingdom. The Lord showed me I had the oppertunity to pray over her before she passed and I trust God and I am thankful He reminded me of “If we KNOW that He HEARS us-Whatever we ask-we know that we have what we asked of Him”, Thank you Lord Thank you!1 John 1:15
For anyone who has lost, loved and prayed for their pet I want to share this with you. This also give me comfort from the Bible Answer Man Hank Hanegraaff, president and founder of the Christian Research Institute.
Will there be Animals in Heaven? Scripture does not conclusively tell us whether our pets will make it heaven. However the bible does provide us with some significant clues regarding whether or not animals will inhabit the new heaven and the new earth. First, animals populated the Garden of Eden. Thus, there is a precedent for believing that animals will populate Eden Restored as well. Animal are among Gods creative creations. Thus, it would seem incredible that he would banish such wonders in heaven. Furthermore, while we cannot say for certain that the pets we enjoy today will be resurrected in eternity, I am not willing to to preclude the possibilities. Some of the keenest thinkers from C. S. Lewis to Peter Kreeft are not only convinced that animals in general but the pets in particular will be restored in the resurrection. If God resurrected our Pets it would be in total keeping with His overwhelming goodness! Finally, the scriptures from first to last suggest that animals have souls. Both Moses in Genesis and John in revelation communicate that the creator endowed animals with souls. In the original languages of Genesis 1:20 and Revelation 8:9 nephesh and psyche respectively refer to the essence of life or soul. Not until Descartes and Hobbes and the Enlightenment did people think otherwise about animals. However, because the soul of an animal is qualitatively different fom the soul of a human there is reasonable doubt that it can survive the death of it body. One thing certain: Scripture provides us with sufficient precedence for believing that animals will inhabit the new heaven and new earth. In the words of Isaiah: The wolf will live with the lamb and the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them (Isiah 11:6)
